" Dhebra "
" Maa ki Tarah koi aur khayal rakh paaye....ye to bas khayal hi ho Sakta hai!"
It is truly said that no one can care like a Mom. Words are less to describe a Mom's love.
My Mom's food, her varied cuisines are always mouth-watering.
Her dishes are always comely and tempting.
COVID 19 taught us many things, where I learned to eat healthily, be healthy, and live healthily.
Healthy eating is always good for Immunity.
Today thought of putting down a recipe that my Mom taught me.
She is always ready to feed everyone with a Blithe. It is her opinion, that when you cook " always be grateful" as that will give a positive AURA to them who eat that food.
Today's recipe one can enjoy during Rainy as well as during Winter Seasons.
As I am a Pluviophile, this is one of the recipes which I enjoy with a cup of Tea.
My Mom calls it " Dhebra" - it's a Bajra Roti followed by other healthy ingredients.
There are immense benefits of the ingredients used in this recipe. I have jotted down a few of it.
A short glimpse of the benefits: 1. Bajra / Besan :
* Controls Diabetes
* Gluten-free
* Stabilizes cholesterol level
* Rich in Iron
2. Bajra :
* Relieves Constipation
* Packed with Omega - 3 Fats.
3. Besan:
* Nourishes skin & hair
* Can Aid weight loss
4. Black pepper :
* Anti - Inflammatory properties
* Improves brain functions
5. Asafoetida :
* Reduces bloating
* Anti-bacterial, anti-viral & anti-inflammatory properties.
6. Garlic:
* Best for the heart.
Prep.Time: 5 Mins
Cooking Time: 5 Mins
Total Time: 10 Mins
Method:
1. Take 1 bowl of Bajra flour.
2. Add Besan (gram flour) in it followed by asafoetida, black pepper, salt, crushed garlic ( optional )
3. Add little water and knit a dough mixing all the ingredients with a soft hand.
4. Now, take the dough & start making a thick roti with your hand the way we clap. ( As shown in the picture)
5. While making the roti, apply little water on both the palms turn by turn so that the uncooked roti doesn't stick to your hand.
6. After putting the roti on the hot Mitti Tawa, lower the flame and cook it on medium-low flame.
The most beneficial part of this recipe is we are using Mitti Tawa, which carries all nutrients such as Calcium, cobalt, Magnesium, Sulphur, etc, what is required by our body.
A handmade roti on a Mitti Tawa garnish with a spoon of pure ghee will give a Desi feel.
